The Los Angeles Chargers' social media team posted a "Mic'd Up" video clip from their 34-17 Week 16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, misrepresenting Cowboys center Cooper Beebe with selective editing and censoring.
Following their dominant win on December 22, the Chargers' social media team uploaded a clip featuring Cowboys center Cooper Beebe at the line of scrimmage with Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley. The video was captioned with "lol instant karma" and showed Beebe apparently engaged in a heated conversation with Henley.
The Chargers deliberately censored/bleeped out what Beebe actually said, creating the false impression that he had said something offensive or racially charged. Jon Root shared the whole saga via X, urging the Chargers to apologize.

"Honestly watching it... I think they were trying to be funny. Listen to the Chargers player. Obviously it backfired, but I don't think they were trying to be malicious," one fan said. "Sue them out of the league," another fan said. "What goes on in the field, stays in the field. You know there is lots of things said on the field that's part of the game," one fan said.Beebe actually said, "Hole R?" It is shorthand for "Hole Right," a basic football term that every center in the league uses multiple times every game. Henley thought Beebe called him a bad word and justified celebrating when a false start penalty was called on the Cowboys, calling it "karma."
