This Charlotte Hornets stat is unreal

One of the most surprising teams of the 2025-26 season, the Charlotte Hornets picked up a tight road win against the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night.

Miles Bridges and Kon Knueppel (combined 49 points) were able to outduel Jalen Johnson who posted a near triple-double with 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

With the victory, the Hornets earned their ninth straight victory, the second-longest streak in franchise history. In the 1999-2000 season, Charlotte won 10 consecutive games.

That said, there's been something special about Charlotte's success during the 2025-26 season. The Hornets have been able to flourish with one of the youngest rosters in the NBA. Heading into the season, the Hornets were the seventh youngest team with an average age of 24.53. That number has certainly gone down, after trading veteran center Mason Plumlee at the trade deadline.

During their current win streak, no player 28-years-old or older has scored a point. According to OptaStats, this is the first time in NBA history that a team has won nine consecutive games without any points scored from a player 28 and older.

This trend is likely to continue as well, considering the Hornets do not have any players above 28-years-old following the trade deadline.

The Hornets have three 27-year-olds, Miles Bridges, Grant Williams and the recently acquired Xavier Tillman Sr.. Charlotte currently rosters 11 players below the age of 25.

The Hornets will put their nine-game win streak on the line again Monday, facing the conference-leading Detroit Pistons
