Thierry Henry sends warning to Liverpool after Champions League opener

Liverpool narrowly escaped with a win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, after Virgil van Dijk's late goal secured five wins out of their first five matches. 

The Reds led early thanks to goals from Andy Robertson and Mohammed Salah, but Marcos Llorente scored a brace for Atletico to get the Spanish side back in the match. 

Despite the win, Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry issued a warning to Liverpool and Arne Slot if they want to win the Champions League. 

What did Henry say after Liverpool's late win?

Speaking after the Champions League matches, Henry advised the Reds on how they should improve to win the competition. 

The former French international said, "I do think, from preseason, they concede too many goals."

"They got bailed out again the other day against Burnley, and you have to find a way to win games, so we're not complaining about that."

Liverpool earned a win over the weekend after a late penalty shout, with Salah converting the spot kick. 

"But in the Champions League, if you concede too many goals, it's a tough one to win."

Liverpool take on Everton in the Premier League over the upcoming weekend, with their next Champions League match coming against Galatasaray on September 30.
