‘The View’ Hosts Slam Kash Patel For Celebrating Team USA’s Gold Medal Hockey Win In The Locker Room: “Who Else Gets To Chug Beer On The Job?”

The hosts of The View were not happy seeing FBI Director Kash Patel celebrating with the United States men’s olympic hockey team after they won gold at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

A leaked video appeared to show Patel chugging a beer and throwing it in celebration while partying with the U.S. team in the locker room. The video spurred backlash, with many on the show questioning why it was necessary for Patel to use American tax dollars to fund the trip to Milan.

The spectacle was enough for guest host Amanda Carpenter to ask, “Who else gets to chug beer on the job like this as an appointed official, seriously?”

The moment prompted Ana Navarro to shade Pete Hegseth, the head of the Department of Defense who has been accused of abusing alcohol on the job. “Have you met Pete Hegseth?”

Whoopi Goldberg attempted to “put a positive spin on it.”

“Maybe the folks in the FBI said, ‘Yeah, Kash go do that,’ so they don’t have to deal with him,” she said. “Because they know he doesn’t know what he’s doing. They know he’s incompetent, they know he’s a joke. He’s a joke to the rest of the world.”

Goldberg added, “Because for most of the people in the FBI, it is not a joke. They’re the ones whose eyes are on the ball.”

Patel shared photos from the locker room on X along with a statement.

“Unity, Sacrifice, Attitude- what it takes to be the best in the world,” he wrote. “These men live and breathe it. Now Team USA are gold medal champions, legends standing on the shoulders of giants. Thank you for representing the greatest country on earth, in the greatest game ever created.”

Goldberg has openly criticized Patel on the show before, telling viewers, “You can put your dog in charge of the FBI and they’ll do a better job. I mean, come on!”

“None of the people in charge know what the hell they’re doing,” she complained at the time, pointing to the FBI as well as the Department of Health and Human Services, led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the Department of Education, helmed by Linda McMahon.

“I just wanna make sure that we know that we can vote people in and out,” she continued. “This is the thing. I’m tired and bored of having to report everyday that people are doing stupid stuff.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is now away on maternity leave, told her co-hosts, “I’ve never in my lifetime had so little faith in the FBI’s ability to do basic law enforcement.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
