I have loved this novel ever since I read it 10 years ago. I was at university, and the last thing I wanted to do was study. So what did I do instead? I locked myself in my dorm, curled up in bed with this novel that shook my foundation of life. It wasn't just a beautiful and thought-provoking story of love, relationships, and a codependent couple. It was a political statement, a relic of history, of a time when boundaries were broken, reality was erased, and free-thinking wasn't permitted.
