According to Statistics Canada, the number of unemployed Canadians with a bachelor’s degree or higher rose by 22.2 per cent year-over-year in the first quarter of 2025, while vacancies requiring a bachelor’s degree or higher fell by 11 per cent. As a result, there were 5.1 unemployed people for every job vacancy requiring a bachelor’s degree, up from 3.7 a year earlier.
