This time — May 21, 2025, a date which will live in infamy — the Pacers did it again. They scored 23 points in the final 3 minutes and 14 seconds of regulation. The Knicks barely survived into overtime because Tyrese Haliburton’s toenail was on the 3-point line on a ridiculous prayer of a shot that hit the back rim, bounced high in the air, and fell through.

Unlike the Bucks, who survived similar good fortune a few years ago when Kevin Durant did the same thing on the other side of the river, the Knicks couldn’t make the most of a small burst of good luck.
