The internet is loving Michael Jordan linking up with Victoria Monét

Victoria Monét shared how much she is inspired by NBA legend Michael Jordan.

"Greatness has a frequency. So grateful I got to tune in with the greatest!!!" the "On Your Mama" singer wrote in the caption alongside three images, with one featuring her daughter, Hazel. 

She ended the caption with a quote from Jordan, writing, "I’ve failed over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed!"

Fans couldn't get enough of the sweet moment between the two. 

"He hugged you like a proud dad," one fan wrote.

One fan joked, "Why I thought this was a hard launch," adding a laughing emoji.

Keke Palmer exclaimed, "MICHAEL JORDAAAAAAAAAN."

One fan wrote how the moment was so unique, "You special because that man don’t take pics or sign autographs no more lol"

The NBA icon caught up with the three-time Grammy-winning singer backstage in Milan, Italy, at Stadio San Siro for Bruno Mars' The Romantic Tour.  Monét is an opening act for Mars' tour alongside Anderson Paak (who goes by his DJ persona DJ Pee.Weee), Raye, and Leon Thomas in other select cities across his international and stateside tour. 

Victoria Monét and Michael Jordan's relationships

While many fans were trying to ship Monét and Jordan, they are not together. The six-time NBA champion has been married to Yvette Prieto since 2013. He shares two children with her: twin daughters Victoria and Ysabel.

Jordan was previously married to Juanita Vanoy from 1986 to 2006, and they share three children: Jeffrey, Marcus, and Jasmine.

As for Monét, she told Nessa on HOT 97 that she has been single for over two years. She was previously in a relationship with John Gaines, who is the father of their daughter Hazel. They announced their split in September 2024 on social media in a joint post. 

She was previously seen with rapper Stormzy in late 2024 and confirmed in May 2025 that they dated during an interview on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer after seen spending the holidays together. In that same interview, she also confirmed that they were no longer together. 

The singer had romance rumors between her and then-Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown after they were salsa dancing and attending a game sitting courtside earlier this year. However, neither of them ever confirmed the romance.
