Gable Steveson is the next big in MMA, even though he hasn’t signed for the UFC yet. The Olympic gold medalist from Tokyo 2020 has impressed in other combat promotions with three wins all via TKO or KO.
Steveson also tried his hand in WWE, but now seems to have found his calling in MMA thanks partly to his wrestling background.
The 25-year-old is training with former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones, and spoke about his mentor’s potential final fight.
Steveson was speaking to Joe Rogan on the latter’s podcast. Rogan asked Steveson if Jones would fight one more time.

Jones last fought in 2024 and beat Stipe Miocic to keep hold of the UFC heavyweight gold. However, he retired soon after and declined to fight Tom Aspinall.
Steveson claimed that the ideal final fight would be at the UFC White House card and he wanted to feature as well:
“I want him to. I think he has got the juice in him. He would love the White House. He wants to be main event at the White House and he wants me to be a couple of slots behind him and kind of have us both win and that’s his last leg.”Check out Joe Rogan and Gable Steveson discussing Jon Jones’ final fight below from 29:19:
Joe Rogan sounds warning to UFC heavyweights
In a previous episode of the Joe Rogan Podcast, the UFC commentator was discussing Gable Steveson’s highlight finish at APFC 21. The American won the fight in 30 seconds with a stunning KO.
Rogan was quick to praise the star and sounded a warning to all the UFC heavyweights:
“The heavyweight division is so devoid of talent. Gable Steveson is the f****** guy, that’s the guy. He is not even in the UFC yet. Olympic gold medalist, f***** freak athlete, 250 pounds, moves like a cat. I sent a text message to Dana White, I sent a video of Gable’s last fight, I said ‘everyone’s f***** everyone's f***** when this guy comes out,’ he KO’d this guy with his left hand and took him down as he was knocked down.”Rogan also spoke highly about Steveson’s athleticism. The UFC commentator and podcaster also brought up that Steveson was training under Jon Jones, which was great for the rising MMA star.
