Primarily playing as a shortstop, Bo Bichette enjoyed a great season in 2025. Finshing with a .311 batting average, 18 home runs and 94 RBIs, Bichette played a key role in helping the Toronto Blue Jays win their division, the AL East, for the first time since 2015.

As he entered free agency once the season concluded, Bichette was expected to be in high demand. However, it appears shortstop is not a position most teams are looking to reinforce at the moment, and Bichette's future still remains undecided.

In an effort to boost his chances of finding a potential suitor, Bichette is allegedly ready to make a big adjustment. According to insider Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, Bichette is already telling teams he'd be willing to play second base. MLB Network updated fans of this development on Wednesday, via a post on X.

"So clearly he's not seeing the numbers he expected. And also sounds like his days with The Jay's are done as this is clearly a move to attract more teams," another fan replied. "In other words he's not signing with the Jays," another fan responded. "I bet you that was a huge sticking point for the Jays not signing him," another fan shared.

Blue Jays skipper explains how the organization must compensate for Bo Bichette's loss if the infielder doesn't re-sign

Speaking to Sportsnet's Hazel Mae on Dec. 9, Blue Jays manager John Schneider listed the gaps the organization must look to fill if Bo Bichette doesn't re-sign this offseason.

"The one that jumps out to me is you need to fill his offensive production," Schneider said (Timestamp: 6:10). I mean, this guy led our team in RBI's and missed the last month of the season. Bo is an elite hitter, you know." "And then, you know, the defensive positioning, whether it's short or second," he added. "I think he's comfortable at either one of those places. And then kind of just the person that's leaving the team, you know what I mean? He's been a he's been a staple in our clubhouse. A fiery guy at times. An emotional guy at times."
