“Pot meet kettle,” “Same man that tampered with Cayden Green”: Fans erupt as Eli Drinkwitz tries to expose “sick” state of CFB & calls out tampering

Eli Drinkwitz isn't pleased with the current state of college football. The Missouri Tigers head coach is calling out the rampant tampering issues plaguing the game, and he's bothered about the state of the CFB.

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to give their two cents about his words.

A fan said, "lol pot meet kettle. Why don’t you ask him how they got Cayden Green away from OU?" Another added, "This is the same man, that tampered with Cayden Green in 2023! Now you’re crying when it happens to you." One wrote, "Complains the guy who poached Penn State's back-up QB in the playoffs last year & has a DE on his roster who UGA has a lawsuit vs. due to breach."

Some sided with the Tigers' head coach.

One said, "Yup. System is so broken. Imagine the hours and dollars spent to come up with the dumbest system available. These people in positions of power are completely incompetent. Dumb is the new smart." Another wrote, "True." One chipped in, saying, "The only way to truly fix this is to restore the rule where you sit a year if you transfer, unless you've graduated. You just have to remove the exceptions process entirely, because that's where the lawyers got involved."

Eli Drinkwitz has spent six seasons with the Tigers. He has built the program from perennial underperformers to a consistent bowl game program.

However, the experienced head coach is now bothered about the future of college football due to the lax rules around tampering. The Missouri Tigers are fresh off compiling an 8-4 regular season record in the stacked SEC.

Eli Drinkwitz's team went 3-3 in the second half of the regular season. It torpedoed their playoff hopes and left them with a TaxSlayer Gator Bowl game as a consolation.
