“Thanks for honoring The Biff family the right way”: Fans react as Cleetus McFarland shares 40 minute long Greg Biffle tribute

Fans were moved by Cleetus McFarland's long tribute to Greg Biffle and reacted to the popular YouTuber's video, titled 'The one and only Greg Biffle.'

Biffle, his wife, Cristina, and two children lost their lives in a fatal plane crash near Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina on Thursday, December 18. To pay tribute to his late friend, McFarland shared a 41-minute video on YouTube with Biffle's career highlights and clips of his relief work after Hurricane Helena last year.

"The last year and a half with him has been some of the greatest moments of my life. I am lucky to have had him as a mentor, and a close friend. I've never met someone I had so much in common with. His wife Cristina was an absolute pleasure to be around and an amazing mother. ... It's an absolute tragedy we had to lose the Biffle's like this," McFarland wrote in a pinned comment of the video.

McFarland, who had made his NASCAR ARCA debut earlier this year after meeting with Biffle, also shared his memories with the former NASCAR Cup driver and ended the video saying, 'Do it for Dale, be like Biffle.'

Fans reacted to the video with praise and condolences.

"Thanks for honoring The Biff family the right way," a fan commented. "Be like Biffle is a goal we all should strive for. A good man, a good friend and a kind soul," another wrote.

Biffle was on board with two other pilots on his Cessna C550 jet, but the one in the left seat at the time of the crash has not been confirmed. The plane tried to return to the airport just about 10 minutes after takeoff and struck a runway light stanchion located about 1,800 feet from the runway threshold.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are still working to investigate the cause of the plane crash, and no official reason has been released yet. The NTSB has recovered the black box, cockpit voice recorder, and other equipment from the wreck site and sent them to their headquarters in Washington, D.C. for analysis.

"We were like the same person": Cleetus McFarland on becoming friends with Greg Biffle

Towards the end of the video, Cleetus McFarland explained how he met and became friends with Greg Biffle over the last year and a half. He spoke directly to the camera and recalled their love for helicopters and Crown Victorias.

"I didn't know Greg that long compared to a lot of people, but like when we met about a year and a half ago, it was obvious that we were like the same person. I mean, our two favorite things, well, our number one favorite things was our families, but our other two favorite things were helicopters and Crown Vicks," McFarland said (34:30 onwards).

Cleetus McFarland added that he would release a video about a Christmas gift swap he had planned with Biffle in the future. He also revealed that Biffle and his family were flying from North Carolina to meet him in Florida on the day of the plane crash.
