Tez Johnson's ex fiancee claims he cheated on day of proposal

Tez Johnson is being accused of cheating on his ex-fiancée with his ex-girlfriend on the same day he proposed.

Johnson is a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he proposed to his fiancée, Laila Thompson-Waine, last year. She is now going viral for sharing that he allegedly cheated on her hours before he got down on one knee.

“A year ago today, I got engaged, and later learned he cheated on me the same day he proposed,” Thompson-Wainer wrote in the video. “This morning, I woke up not sad about him. There’s no reason I’d ever want to be around someone like that, but I’m more overwhelmed by the grief of when I believed people were inherently good.”

In the video, she shared that she was "so happy" about the proposal and that Johnson proposed on the beach, which he decorated with flowers.

“He gets down on one knee, he slides the ring on my finger,” she says. “My cheeks hurt from smiling. I was so happy.”

After the proposal, they left the beach, got sushi, and then went home.

However, she later learned that the Buccaneers star was allegedly texting his ex-girlfriend NSFW messages.

“Knowing what I know now, this was his timeline for the day,” Thompson-Wainer says. “He wakes up and texts his ex-girlfriend. Then he proposes. Then we get home from our engagement dinner, and then he texts her.”

She added that she was confused by Johnson's actions after he had just wished for her hand in marriage. 

“You cheat before and after you propose, the morning of and the night,” Thompson-Wainer says. “You know what? That’s something I will never understand.”

Thompson-Wainer said that the purpose of sharing her pain was so that she could hopefully help other women who could have experienced something similar.

“If I can make one woman feel seen, heard, or understood, help in a healing journey, then I’ve done what I set out to do,” Thompson-Wainer says.

“If I had to deal with a bad fiancé, I would use what I learned about a bad man to spark conversations about healing and build a community of women," she concluded.

Johnson has not spoken out about the video at the time.
