SAN ANTONIO, Texas, March 13 — It might not technically be a home court advantage.
But for the Brennan [San Antonio, TX] Bears, it's close enough.
Ranked No. 4 in the latest MaxPreps rankings for Texas, Brennan will make the roughly half-hour journey from the western edge of San Antonio's city limits downtown to The Alamodome for Saturday evening's UIL Class 6A Division I boys basketball state championship game. They'll take on the No. 3 team in those rankings – Fort Worth's North Crowley Panthers – for the title.
For Brennan, the game represents an opportunity to finish the job that ended in the semifinals a year ago in a 65-57 loss to the Bellaire [TX] Cardinals. But they'll have to do it as slight underdogs against a North Crowley squad ranked in the Top 50 in the latest edition of The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball national rankings.
Game time is set for a 6 p.m. EST (5 p.m. CST local) tip.
