Texans vs. Seahawks ‘Monday Night Football’ Week 7 picks, props, odds

For a couple decades, the Seattle Seahawks were perceived to have one of the NFL’s best home-field advantages. Critics even insinuated stadium officials would pump in noise to inhibit opponents.

But the Seahawks have mysteriously turned into road warriors, while stumbling at home. Seattle has lost eight of its last 10 home games, including a 1-2 record at Lumen Field this season. Meanwhile, it has won all three of its road games.

Seattle hosts the Houston Texans on Monday as three-point favorites with a total of 41 points.

The Texans have seemingly righted their ship with consecutive wins after an 0-3 start. However, I am skeptical. All they did was defeat the lowly Tennessee Titans at home and the Baltimore Ravens who were ravaged by injuries and without star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Houston still has significant issues, particularly with an offense that ranks 25th in efficiency. That stems from injured linemen, which has minimized the rushing attack and put more pressure on quarterback C.J. Stroud. He’s also regressed a bit from his first two seasons and part of that can be attributed to a new offensive coordinator.

The Seahawks defense ranks 15th in efficiency and should be up to the task. Safety Julian Love and defensive back Devon Witherspoon are key injuries to monitor, but they did practice this week and are officially listed as questionable on the injury report.

Betting on the NFL?

I am still willing to back Seattle because I think the offense is improving each week. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has blossomed later in his career and has found a connection with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the league with 696 receiving yards in six games.

I have a 70-57-2 ATS record in this Post sports section and my next play is Seattle minus the three points.

The Play: Seahawks -3 (-110, DraftKings)
