The Houston Texans have had a very solid 2025 NFL Draft thus far, featuring the selections of both Iowa State wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Now, they have taken a quarterback in the sixth round.
The Texans selected Florida quarterback Graham Mertz. Mertz began his career at Wisconsin before transferring to Florida in 2023. He threw 20 touchdowns in 2023 before only playing in five games in 2024 as D.J. Lagway became the starter for the Gators. Mertz will look to compete for the backup quarterback job with Davis Mills.
