The Houston Texans have made several moves this offseason, on both offense and defense. They traded away left tackle Laremy Tunsil, but added several pieces to the offensive line in free agency and the draft. They also traded for safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, they could be on the verge of making another big move.
Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Texans and All-Pro running back Nick Chubb have mutual interest in one another. Chubb is coming off a slow year with the Cleveland Browns after he suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season. Chubb has spent the entirety of his eight-year career with the Browns and is currently a free agent.
Chubb was a four-time Pro Bowler from 2019-22, earning a $36 million contract in the midst of his terrific stretch. He currently sits with 6,483 career yards and 51 touchdowns. Putting Chubb with Joe Mixon would make for a terrific running back tandem of reliable veterans behind C.J. Stroud.
