The Houston Texans have been very active this offseason with trades, signings, and extensions. They sent star left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders and acquired safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Philadelphia Eagles. They also extended cornerback Derek Stingley and Jalen Pitre, as well. Now, the Texans are set to add an offensive superstar to complement C.J. Stroud.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Browns are set to sign former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb on Monday, so long as his physical checks out.
"[The] Texans are hosting veteran running back Nick Chubb for a visit Monday and are expected to sign him, as long as a physical goes smoothly," Aaron Wilson reports.
Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury at the beginning of the 2023 season, which caused him to miss over a calendar year. He returned last October, but had a down year, totaling just 332 yards on 102 carries in 2024. In a more complementary role to Joe Mixon, though, the two could really benefit from one another. Chubb can be the smash to Mixon's dash, and allow themselves to stay fresh throughout the course of games.
