Odds are, if you know who Brett Goldstein is, it’s likely from his award-winning role on “Ted Lasso,” but long before that, the actor and screenwriter was a stand-up coming. He still is, in fact.
HBO is debuting Goldstein’s first stand-up special for the network tonight; “Brett Goldstein: Second Best Night of Your Life” was filmed live in New Jersey after he toured the special nationwide throughout 2024 and 2025.
Viewers who primarily know him from his work playing foul-mouthed footballer Roy Kent on “Ted Lasso” will likely be surprised at how often the one-time “Sesame Street” guest star and Muppets fanatic references Jim Henson’s famous characters throughout the special, but rest assured, the “Shrinking” co-creator manages to fit in plenty of f-bombs throughout.
Per HBO, the special features include “hilarious insights on love, sex, masculinity, “Sesame Street,” and everything in between.”
What time does Brett Goldstein’s stand-up special come out on HBO and Max?
Brett Goldstein’s first HBO stand-up special will air tonight, April 26, at 10 p.m. ET. The special, titled “Brett Goldstein: Second Best Night of Your Life,” will also drop on Max at 10 p.m. tonight.
