The FIFA Club World Cup group stage has already tripped up some of world football's big hitters.
Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal in their first match.
They at least managed to avoid defeat — something beyond both Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, who squandered the advantage of assured opening wins as they were taken down by Brazilian duo Botafogo and Flamengo.
Such results mean plenty is still up for grabs as we approach the final round of group stage matches. Who will be the most illustrious clubs to fall before the knockout stages?
Teams out of the FIFA Club World Cup: Every team eliminated
The bottom two teams in each of the eight four-team groups will be eliminated at the end of the round-robin phase.
That means 16 teams progressing to the knockouts and 16 going home. Those teams will be listed below once their elimination is confirmed.
From the Round of 16 onwards, the tournament is played in a straight knockout format of one-off matches, with the winner decided using extra time or a penalty shootout if required.
