Jack Hughes will never top the moment.
He scored Team USA's golden goal in overtime to defeat Canada and claim the 2026 Olympics gold medal for the United States. But lately, something about that has annoyed Hughes.
Where's the puck from that goal? In the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
Hughes wants it for himself.
"I'm trying to get it," Hughes told ESPN's Greg Wyshynski. "Like, that's bulls--- that the Hockey Hall of Fame has it, in my opinion. Why would they have that puck?"
The Hockey Hall of Fame also has the puck scored by U.S. women's hero Megan Keller, who had her own game-winning goal in OT against Canada for a gold medal in that competition, too.
"I don't see why Megan Keller or I shouldn't have those pucks," Hughes told ESPN.

ESPN shared this statement from Hockey Hall of Fame president and CEO Jamie Dinsmore:
"These donated items represent defining moments on the world's biggest stage and carry powerful stories of national pride and hockey history at its highest level. The Olympics '26 display will help ensure that these unforgettable Olympic moments are preserved for our guests from around the world to experience."
Hughes wants to give the puck to his dad, Jim, who helped raise three NHL players.
"I wouldn't even want it for myself. I'd want it for my dad. I know he'd just love, love having it," Hughes told ESPN. "When I look back in time in my career, I don't collect too many things for myself, but my dad's a monster collector for the three of us. I know he would have a special place for it."
There certainly seems like there will be more legs to this story.
For now, the puck is being displayed, but it's not with the man who scored it in the first place.
