Team India speedster Jasprit Bumrah made a surprise visit to the Gujarat Ground College in Ahmedabad on Monday, December 29, during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 game between Tamil Nadu and Ahmedabad. In pictures shared by Sportstar, the star bowler was spotted at the ground and bowling in nets under the eyes of former Gujarat Ranji coach Hitesh Majumdar.
The right-arm speedster had a quiet net session and bowled a few overs. As per the report, Bumrah started his warm-up with a handful of deliveries from a few steps and gradually increased his run-up. By the end of the brief session, the star cricketer was bowling at full tilt, keeping the batters on their toes.
Gujarat Ranji batter Sunpreet Bagga shared his experience of facing Bumrah and said, as quoted by Sportstar:
"He wasn’t bowling at full pace – around 130‑135 kmph. I faced two overs from him."Here are some pictures shared by Sportstar of the 32-year-old's practice session.
It was for Gujarat that Bumrah made his first-class debut in 2013 and is now an indispensable part of India across formats due to his skilful bowling.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, the selectors are likely to rest both Bumrah and Hardik Pandya for the 50-over leg against New Zealand, beginning on January 11 in Vadodara. Nevertheless, the duo will most likely return for the subsequent T20I series to build for the T20 World Cup 2026.
Bumrah will unquestionably remain one of Team India's most potent weapons in the World Cup due to his ability to bowl well across phases. He was the Player of the Tournament when the Men in Blue lifted the title in 2024.
