Not just Tay’s day
Really, street closures around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to July 4 for Taylor Swift’s wedding (“Clues for Tay’s day,” June 25)?
This is also the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Did anyone think about the inconvenience and chaos this would cause for traffic and pedestrians on this special holiday? Thousands of people will be coming to Manhattan for the spectacular fireworks.
Between massive street closures, wedding attendees’ Ubers and limos, security and fans, the streets will be a mess. So much for enjoying this historic holiday.

Keir kowtowed left
Brendan O’Neill is dead right: Far-left crackpot policies sank Keir Starmer and are sinking Britain (“Keir chose to lib dangerously,” June 23).
But will the United Kingdom’s self-inflicted wounds be a “lesson to leftist parties everywhere?” No way; they’ve long since shown that they don’t, won’t and can’t learn.
It’s America’s independent voters who need to learn that lesson, even if it means dropping their Trump Derangement Syndrome just for the brief few minutes they’re voting in November’s midterms.

Show the vandals
The reflecting pool in DC is under constant video surveillance (“Vandals uncool to pool,” June 23).
Can anyone provide the footage of vandals cutting a 350-foot slice into the bottom of the pool that President Trump himself said could not be cut?
Trump constantly changes his lies, and the Republican propaganda machine falls in line.

Sick schemers
I cannot believe that some medical professionals — people whose hands we put our lives into — so blatantly defraud the system we need for our medical coverage (“Med expenses are doctored,” June 24)
The outlandish spending they’ve done is outrageous. People can’t afford medications or even medical procedures but these disgusting greedy people take millions out of the system to buy designer jewelry and foreign cars.
Those who’ve enriched themselves need to be sent to prison for a very long time.

Justice served
Sunny Hostin needs a zipper on her face, and she and her co-hosts at “The View” should take a permanent recess from TV (“Lies in full ‘View,’ ” Kirsten Fleming, June 25).
This so-called lawyer says Karmelo did not receive a fair trial. Karmelo Anthony was a knife-toting punk who murdered Austin Metcalf in cold blood. He was tried fairly, something Austin did not get from Anthony.
Metcalf was the victim of Anthony’s stupidity and criminality, and a jury convicted him of murder — a just verdict. Anthony was and is the villain. He is in prison where he belongs.

Chi-town’s TDS
After Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker refused federal help, suggesting they have Chicago’s crime under control, shootings and homicides are up compared to last year (“Don: Call & I’ll lower crime in Chi-town minute,” June 24).
What’s on display is Democrats’ strategy of being against whatever President Trump says or does. The public be damned.
