Former K-1 champion Takeru Segawa is enjoying the festive season, but he's been shifting his gears at usual intensity throughout the period at Tokyo's Team Vasileus.
The Japanese kickboxing megastar returned to the winner's column in his last promotional outing, overcoming Bosnian-Canadian veteran Denis Puric via second-round TKO at ONE 173 inside the Ariake Arena on November 16.
He floored 'The Bosnian Menace' four times to earn the stoppage win and gain his second promotional win and a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
While most fighters would slow down during the year-end, Takeru clearly has not. In a clip uploaded onto his official Instagram account (@k1takeru), the 34-year-old was seen throwing full-paced combinations at his longtime coach and padholder Masakazu Watanabe.

Takeru wants Rodtang rematch in ONE Championship
Following his win in the Japanese capital, the Team Vasileus martial artist declared that he'd want to runi it back against former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
The pair then briefly shared a moment inside the Circle at ONE 173, with 'Natural Born Krusher' also signalling that another fight against the Thai megastar would be his ideal retirement fight.
The Team Vasileus man suffered a first-round knockout loss to 'The Iron Man' when they collided at ONE 172 in Saitama, Japan, this past March. The Thai megastar shut him down inside 80 seconds of the card's main event showdown.
His defeat to Rodtang marked his second promotional loss after he went down to 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 in his ONE debut. Takeru's other victory inside the Circle came via second-round KO against Myanmar bruiser Thant Zin.
