MILAN — The Americans have their first injury scare of the Olympic tournament.

Tage Thompson was not on the bench to start the third period of Team USA’s semifinal bout against Slovakia on Friday night at Santagiulia Arena.

After scoring a power-play goal to give the Americans a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period, Thompson blocked a hard shot later in the second.
