Team USA's women's hockey team claimed gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics with a 2-1 overtime win over Canada, adding another chapter to a rivalry full of gold-medal matchups. Who is Megan Keller?
Megan Keller is a professional hockey player in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and a longtime member of Team USA. The 2026 Milan Games marked Keller's third Olympic appearance, having also won gold in 2018 and silver in 2022.
At the IIHF Women's World Championships, Keller is a six-time gold medalist with Team USA.
She is from Farmington, Michigan, and attended North Farmington High School, where she played hockey, basketball, and softball, before playing hockey at Boston College from 2014 to 2019.
Keller became a star at Boston College, leading the country in scoring among defensemen in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She won the Cammi Granato Award twice and earned AHCA All-American First Team honors, finishing her collegiate career as Boston College's all-time leading scorer among defensemen.
Keller was also one of the biggest-name players involved in creating the PWHL. She was a founding member of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) in 2019, which ultimately helped establish the league by 2023.
Now, in 2026, she has scored perhaps the biggest goal of her career, delivering a gold medal for the United States.

Megan Keller plays for the Boston Fleet in the PWHL. She signed with the franchise in 2023 as the league was being created, one of the team's leading talents alongside Hilary Knight and Aerin Frankel.
