Syracuse Orange basketball legend Buddy Boeheim could hardly miss in his TBT debut for Boeheim's Army

Buddy Boeheim didn't leave Las Vegas, where he was playing for the Pacers in NBA Summer League, until Saturday morning.

But by Saturday evening, it was clear that a little bit of jet lag wouldn't miss with Buddy's shooting stroke.

The younger son of long-time Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim was making his debut in The Basketball Tournament for Boeheim's Army. And he could hardly miss in a dominant first-round win over Herkimer Originals to open TBT.

Buddy dropped 24 points, and he made 7-for-9 from 3-point range.

“I think the adrenaline was there from the start,” Buddy told Fox Sports postgame. “Being out there, and the nerves were there. But playing with Elijiah (Hughes), Jacob Gilyard for the first time, playing with my brother and all these great former ‘Cuse guys…was super fun.”

Buddy's shooting has always been his greatest skill, dating back to his days as a youngster taking on older bro Jimmy on a Little Tykes hoop in their house.

Now, back in Syracuse colors, Buddy looks right at home. And if he keeps making shots at this rate, Boeheim's Army will be a tough out in TBT.
