A stellar renewal of the Gold Cup trial - the Longines Sagaro Stakes - sees the evergreen Sweet William and Caballo De Mar among a field of nine.

John and Thady Gosden's Sweet William enjoyed another solid season last year winning the Doncaster Cup for a second time before chasing home Trawlerman at Ascot. That form entitles him to be the pick here, but he may prove vulnerable on his first outing for a while.

George Scott's Caballo De Mar has race fitness on his side having finished runner-up in the Dubai Gold Cup 34 days ago and last season's Prix du Cadran victor merits respect despite shouldering a Group One penalty.

Tabletalk and Tarriance are closely matched on their Meydan form and remain unexposed at staying trips.

Coppull claimed the Group Two Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and was just a short head behind Brussels at Newmarket. Clive Cox took this prize with Jasour in 2024 and he rates a huge player under Rossa Ryan.

3.45 Ascot - Improving Remmooz faces Jonquil and Rashabar

An open feel to the Listed Paradise Stakes sees Remmooz, Jonquil and Rashabar feature among eight runners.

Owen Burrows' Remmooz stepped forward with every start last summer, winning four of his six races. He caught the eye when finishing fourth in the Jersey Stakes at this track back in June and was last seen knuckling down well to see off Volterra in Listed company at Newbury. The step up to mile may bring out further progress.

Jonquil has been given some stiff assignments since landing the Greenham on his return last spring and only narrowly failed to claim top-level success in the French Guineas this time last year. He proved disappointing in Abu Dhabi in February and will hope to bounce back under Colin Keane.

Rashabar, second behind Jonquil in the Greenham, endured a frustrating 2025 campaign but ran with credit on more than one occasion and the drop to a mile is worth noting.
