Charles Barkley believes the Timberwolves don't have a chance against Victor Wembanyama

The Minnesota Timberwolves have pulled off the upset by beating the Denver Nuggets in six games. It was one of the most impressive results of the first round because the Timberwolves did not have superstar Anthony Edwards and crucial role player Donte DiVincenzo.

Now, they will be playing against the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals. It will be a huge test for the young Spurs, but it seems almost no one is giving the Timberwolves another chance of making it into their third consecutive Western Conference Finals.

Charles Barkley is not giving the Timberwolves a chance against the Spurs

The Timberwolves already had a strong grip on the series early on against the Nuggets. However, everything changed when injuries to their starting backcourt occurred. Despite that, the Timberwolves remained focused on the series, so they ended up beating Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.

It was a landmark performance for the Timberwolves, especially Jaden McDaniels. He has taken over as the go-to guy in Edwards' absence, and he did well against the Nuggets, becoming the catalyst for the Nuggets' frustrations.

Now, the upcoming series against the Spurs will be an interesting one. The Timberwolves are the heavy underdogs once again, but this time, they are playing against a fantastic team. Wembanyama is the superstar for the Spurs, and he has an upcoming matchup against his fellow Frenchman and mentor, Rudy Gobert.

If you ask Inside the NBA host and former NBA MVP Charles Barkley, he thinks the series will be a cakewalk for the Spurs.

"Without Anthony Edwards, they got no chance. Zero. It would be a difficult series with Anthony... Joker is a little guy compared to Rudy. Rudy is a little guy compared to Victor. All that perimeter stuff won't matter to the Spurs, they have the three best guards," Barkley said on the Inside the NBA post-game show after the Timberwolves' win.

It will definitely be an interesting series between the Timberwolves and Spurs. The latter is the favorite to win the series, but the Timberwolves just finished a series where they were the heavy underdogs. It could happen again, but as Barkley said, it is quite unlikely.
