Welcome to the New York Times, where even the ice cream is progressive.
According to inside sources, the paper unveiled a seasonal perk this summer: Ice cream carts delivering frozen treats to employees each week.
And this week’s selection, from Harlem’s Sugar Hill Creamery, included cleverly titled flavors like the custom-made “All the News That’s Fit to Mint” (fresh mint cookies and ice creams) as well as “Sage Advice” (brown butter sage sour cherry).

Notably, one of the other five flavors offered this week was “Sweet Socialism” — a dark chocolate sorbet seemingly tailor-made for the outlet’s left-wing employees.
Another flavor served Wednesday was the inclusive, gender-neutral “Chairperson of the board (blueberry cheesecake).”
The New York Times did not respond to a request for comment.
In an era where people are drinking less than ever before, perhaps champagne socialism deserved a refresh — ice cream socialism anyone?
