The New England Patriots are Super Bowl underdogs against the Seattle Seahawks in Santa Clara, but now they've got history against them as well.
If you believe such things.
As the coin toss was being performed, the Patriots won and deferred, giving the Seahawks the ball first, as expected.
But it is here where Patriots fans won't like it.
According to Trey Wingo, a well-respected voice in NFL media, things are going to go downhill if what he posted on X is correct (we have no reason to doubt it).
"The Patriots won the coin toss. They won the coin toss in all 3 of their Super Bowl losses…and lost the coin toss in all 6 of their Super Bowl wins," Wingo posted.

Does coin toss result really matter?
Well, going by Wingo's stats, it definitely does, and it might be a bad day at the office for New England as a result.
Of course, there will be others who think the coin toss result doesn't matter at all, but you have to admit, that it is rather interesting that in all of their Super Bowl wins, they've lost the coin toss.
It will be interesting to revisit this post-game if the Patriots manage to beat Seattle.
