The WWE Hall of Famer, Sting made a big statement about his partnership with AEW following a recent farewell. The Icon wrestled his last match in Tony Khan's promotion last year.

Sting announced his in-ring retirement after competing in his last match at AEW Revolution 2024. Nonetheless, The Icon is still associated with All Elite Wrestling, as he has made some sporadic appearances after his retirement. Meanwhile, he dropped a bombshell regarding his future with Tony Khan's promotion.

The 66-year-old legend made his last appearance in face paint at the recent WrestleVerse fest. During an interview with Denise Salcedo after the fest, The Icon opened up on his emotional farewell from meet and greets in face paint:

“I’ll be glad to get off the airplanes and trains and automobiles, but I will miss the people for sure, absolutely. Not just the roar of the crowd wrestling, but these meet and greets, the one-on-ones, and the story time telling. It’s amazing to hear everything that fans have to say. They’re just so appreciative and grateful, and so am I."

Sting further announced that there will be bits and pieces with All Elite Wrestling, teasing more appearances in the company in the future:

"I just want to say thank you. I love you, all of you. I do believe that we’ve had a love affair going on for many decades now, and I will miss all of you for sure. There’ll be little bits and pieces with AEW I’m sure down the road.” [H/T WrestlePurists]

Sting's son could reportedly sign with AEW

Steve Borden Jr., the son of the legendary Sting, could be signed by AEW, according to a recent report. Steve made his All Elite in-ring debut with a dark match before the Winter is Coming event recently. After Tony Khan praised the youngster, Fightful.com reported that Steve Borden Jr. is expected to be under contract with All Elite Wrestling before long.

Only time will tell if Steve Borden Jr. will make his AEW TV debut sooner rather than later.
