The Pittsburgh Steelers still need to add another starting-caliber wide receiver to the roster.
Trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys has left a void at boundary receiver opposite DK Metcalf, and the Steelers must fill that void before the season to ensure Aaron Rodgers has the best chance to have success in his 21st NFL season.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes Pittsburgh could replace Pickens with one of his Rodgers old teammates on the Green Bay Packers, Romeo Doubs.
"The Steelers would be an obvious landing spot for the Nevada product if he is on the move. They need receiver depth, and Rodgers has experience playing with him. Doubs' rookie season coincided with the veteran's last campaign as a Packer," Knox wrote.
Doubs is entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2025, and the Packers have a stacked receiver room filled with young talent, so he is a potential trade candidate.
The Steelers, who lack youth at the position, would be an ideal landing spot for Doubs. The 25-year-old has posted two straight 600-yard campaigns and even scored eight touchdowns in 2023. He would see more targets and likely be more productive in Pittsburgh with Rodgers and Metcalf.
A Day 3 pick should be enough to acquire Doubs from Green Bay, and the Steelers should make the move. The young receiver would fill a pressing need, and his experience playing with Rodgers is also a major plus.
