Cordarrelle Patterson was always faster than anyone else around him on the football field.
Makes sense that he'd be the first to post the news of his release, too.
Patterson posted this sassy message on X on Monday morning:
Breaking news❗️❗️❗️Pittsburgh Steelers release old washed up cordarrelle patterson on his day off!!!
— cordarrelle patterson (@ceeflashpee84) July 28, 2025Patterson clearly doesn't seem thrilled with how things were handled.
The 34-year old receiver, running back and return specialist played with the Steelers last season and was into the second season of his two-year deal with Pittsburgh that was supposed to pay him $2.8 million for 2025.
Instead, Patterson is looking for a new job.

He's the NFL's all-time leader in kickoff return touchdowns, with nine. That should be enough to get him a new gig.
Last season, he also rushed 32 times for 135 yards and caught 12 passes for 80 yards in 13 games for the Steelers.
In his career, he has 2,646 rushing yards, 2,875 receiving yards and 8,229 kick return yards.
Patterson isn't the player he once was, but he's still Cordarrelle Patterson.
And after getting released on his day off, he may want to prove to the NFL that he can still play.
