Steelers wideout DK Metcalf appeared to strike a Lions fan late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game in Detroit.

It’s unclear what prompted the incident, but with just over two minutes remaining in the first half and the Lions facing a third-and-1, the broadcast cut to a clip of Metcalf standing up against the stands — with a Detroit fan leaving over the barrier at Ford Field.

After a few seconds, Metcalf lifted his hand and appeared to make contact with the fan’s blue hair.

Metcalf, who was traded to the Steelers in March and subsequently signed a four-year, $132 million extension. He’s collected 808 receiving yards and six touchdowns entering Sunday’s game.

He caught one pass for five yards — and had a bad drop — in the first half, and Metcalf was also flagged for pass interference with Aaron Rodgers attempting to orchestrate a scoring drive before halftime.

The CBS broadcast reported that the NFL planned to address the incident later at Metcalf remaining in the game.
