Steelers' Aaron Rodgers rumblings get new update from NFL insider

4 hours ago 1

Another day and more talk about whether or not Aaron Rodgers will sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

At this point, Rodgers has not signed with the Steelers or any other team. He also hasn't retired from the NFL, so the lingering question remains: What will Rodgers do?

On Thursday, NFL insider Albert Breer discussed the Rodgers timeline with Colin Cowherd, and Breer still thinks Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, although he has no idea when it will happen.

"I think Pittsburgh where he winds up, I don't know if it's going to be in three weeks, though," Breer said. "I would take the personal issue that he's been dealing with, take that at face value and respect it. That's something that's there for him."

"I think the likelihood, the overwhelming likelihood, is that he still winds up playing for the Steelers. But I still wouldn't rule out the idea he could retire and who knows what other opportunity could come up if there's an injury somewhere else."

When the NFL schedule was released on Wednesday, it sure seemed like Rodgers was going to Pittsburgh, especially with the Steelers facing the New York Jets in Week 1.

A report earlier in the week mentioned that the Steelers were "optimistic" about Rodgers signing, so this is yet another prediction of Rodgers wearing the black and gold in 2025.

But, Breer continues to hammer down that he believes Rodgers is coming to Pittsburgh, although it could take some time. Or, he could change his mind. Who knows.
