Michael Jordan gets disappointing prediction about return to NBA

6 hours ago 1

Fans were stunned when it was reported earlier this week that Michael Jordan had agreed to a deal with NBC to be a part of their NBA coverage next season. While there was quite a bit of excitement as a result of this announcement, former three-time Sixth Man of the Year Award winner Lou Williams doesn't think folks should be getting their hopes up regarding Jordan's return to the NBA.

Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest player in NBA history, as he led the Chicago Bulls on their dynastic run in the 1990s, racking up six championships and a slew of other individual accolades. Since retiring, though, Jordan has largely faded into the background, opting to avoid the spotlight after living in it for his 15-year career.

Seeing Jordan return to the NBA, even in this somewhat unknown capacity, had fans thrilled, but Williams isn't sold on the idea. He doesn't think that Jordan will be all that involved with NBC, predicting that he won't even make two appearances for NBC next season.

"I don't think we're gonna see Michael Jordan weekly or bi-weekly talking about today's basketball," Williams said on "Run It Back." "Michael Jordan don't care about no basketball player that ain't wearing that Jumpman symbol. I stand on that."

Regardless of how many appearances Jordan makes for NBC, the move has generated a lot of buzz, which is precisely what they are looking for. Now, fans will anxiously be waiting to see what their plans are for Jordan, and whether or not Williams' prediction comes true.
