Star studded Grammy party has very unglamorous surprise guest

In a weekend congested with star-studded Grammys parties featuring music’s brightest stars, we’ve got great expectorations surrounding one event in particular. Top independent music publisher Primary Wave has a special guest at its 20th anniversary pre-Grammy party: Mr. Mucus! As in, the anthropomorphic green snotty blob who terrorizes nasal cavities in ads for over-the-counter decongestant Mucinex.

In a knee-slapper of a pitch from Hunter p.r., Page Six Hollywood has been invited to watch as Mr. Mucus unveils his musical alter ego, Phlegm Boi, and debuts his single “The Booger Banger.” Look out, Bruno Mars, he’s coming for that top Billboard spot!

Phlegm Boi is expected to mingle with guests, including Moby, Def Leppard and Boyz II Men in a swanky Beverly Hills venue (we won’t reveal which one, for fear the paparazzi will swarm him). We guess those are all acts of an age who need to be wary of flu season at this stage in their careers. Trombone Shorty and CeeLo Green are also slated to perform at the party Saturday.

Other high-profile bashes (sans snot) this weekend include a Sabrina Carpenter-themed event held by Johnnie Walker, Universal Music’s Sunday Grammys after-party and Steven Tyler’s seventh-annual Grammys viewing party, which donates all proceeds to his charity, Janie’s Fund.
