St. John’s lone high school recruit, four-star guard Adam Oumiddoch, decommitted Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-5 guard from Overtime Elite, a consensus top 50 prospect in the country, orally committed to St. John’s in November, picking them over Villanova, Illinois, LSU and Oregon.
According to sources, the two sides didn’t see eye to eye on a financial package. St. John’s former general manager, Matt Abdelmassih, had negotiated the previous deal. The Johnnies have yet to find a replacement for Abdelmassih, who was let go in early January.
He was placed on administrative leave in mid-December, as the school looked into financial deals made by Abdelmassih.
