Spurs' Victor Wembanyama makes basketball history never done by NBA center

Victor Wembanyama is still easing his way back into the San Antonio Spurs’ lineup following his calf injury, explaining why he’s still on a minutes restriction.

Still, the former No. 1 overall pick continues to make awe-inspiring contributions with the Spurs in Year 2. Wembanyama, who recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, made history that has never been done by an NBA center.

“Victor Wembanyama is the fastest center in NBA history to reach: 3,000+ points, 1,000+ rebounds, and 500+ assists,” Real Sports revealed on X/Twitter.

Is Wembanyama’s most recent historic feat all that surprising? The 7-foot-4 superstar is unlike any center the NBA has ever seen.

The Le Chesnay, France native’s advanced/fluid ball handling, ability to make the right read out of double teams due to his stature/elite basketball acumen, and effortless rebounding chops on both ends make him a unique and near-unguardable frontcourt contributor.

After experiencing two consecutive losing seasons with the Spurs to begin his NBA career despite his outstanding play, Wembanyama should be laser-focused on reaching the postseason for the first time in his career.

So far, the 21-year-old is on the right track, as San Antonio currently boasts an impressive 21-7 record and the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Wembanyama, barring any unforeseen circumstances, will be a problem in the big leagues for an extended period.
