The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumor season is here.
The Milwaukee Bucks could look to start a new era, and if they do, Antetokounmpo's trade would net a treasure trove of future assets.
One team he's been linked to is the San Antonio Spurs to play with Victor Wembanyama in a generational pairing of basketball unicorns.
The Athletic's NBA writers recently constructed what a trade could look like between Milwaukee and San Antonio. To get the deal done, they also included the New Orleans Pelicans.
Here's how it looked.
Bucks get:
- Zion Williamson
- Keldon Johnson
- 2025 first-round pick (Spurs, via Hawks)
- 2027 first-round pick swap rights (Pelicans)
- 2029 first-round pick (Spurs)
Pelicans get:
- Devin Vassell
- Jeremy Sochan
- Pat Connaughton
- 2027 first-round pick (Spurs, via Hawks)
Spurs get:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo

It's a fascinating deal.
The Bucks begin their new era with 24-year old Williamson, one of the NBA's most talented players who just can't quite stay healthy. Johnson is also a strong wing scorer.
The Pelicans get Vassell and Sochan to take their rebuild in a different direction from Zion.
The Spurs get Giannis, a huge accomplishment in and of itself. They also do it while keeping Stephon Castle.
The trade is likely a bit light on the Bucks' return, especially given Williamson's injury history. But it'd certainly shake up the entire NBA if it went down like this.
