Splitgate Arena Reloaded finally launched on December 17, 2025, at 9 am PT. The game has gone through some hard times and downfalls since it was initially launched as Splitgate 2 back in July 2025 and received major backlash. As a result, the developers, 1047 Games, had to take the step to unlaunch the game and return to the beta for major rebuilding.

Splitgate Arena Reloaded comes with improvements across all areas, including gameplay, performance, accessibility, progression, and more.
Gameplay
- To recapture that classic arena vibe, the developers decided to remove factions, abilities, and selectable equipment.
- You can now collect Legendary Weapons and Powerups during matches.
- New tools like Portal Overloading and EMP Grenades give you ways to counter portal strategies.
- Portal Trails make it easier to track both enemies and teammates as they zip through portals.
- Controller gameplay feels better thanks to improved handling and corrected aim acceleration.
- The Time to Kill (TTK) has been increased slightly.
- Audio and VFX have seen significant upgrades.
- Visual recoil is now more manageable across all weapons.
Performance
- Optimizations now ensure higher and more consistent framerates.
- Hitching and stuttering issues have been reduced.
- Game assets, including maps, have been optimized to lower rendering costs and memory usage.
- Shaders and effects load much smoother now.
Modes
Classic Arena mode gives everyone a fixed starting loadout: an Assault Rifle and a Carbine. You can also finally queue for multiple modes simultaneously.

Splitgate Arena Reloaded comes with five new maps, bringing the total count to 20. A Practice Range has also been added.

Progression
The progression system has been improved. A Player Stats feature now lets you track your performance, and new unlockable cosmetics have been added to all weapon progression tracks. Daily login rewards are also included.
New Career Levels:
- Rookie Levels (1-75): This phase helps you learn the core of the game, along with unlocking weapons, equipment, and perks.
- Challenger Levels (76-1000)
Ranked
The Ranked system has been improved significantly. You now play 10 placement matches to determine the correct rank for your skill level.
- A new skill system has been built specifically for this updated Ranked experience.
- Ranked Leaderboards are now available.
Battlepass
The Battle Pass also got a revamp to make it linear and easier to understand. It now features over 115 rewards to unlock.
Store
- Prices have been reduced for nearly all bundles.
- The new Proelium Exchange allows you to purchase cosmetics using the reworked progression currency.
- A 100 Splitcoin currency pack has been added to the shop.
- You can now purchase bundles even after they leave the store rotation, as they remain available for the rest of the season.
