South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers backs Alabama Crimson Tide’s Kalen DeBoer against Thomas Castellanos’s insult

Florida State QB Thomas Castellanos messed up big time with his audacious comment on the Alabama Crimson Tide. At least, that’s what the reactions so far say.

Beyond being a direct write-off, Castellanos’ words strongly scorned Kalen DeBoer’s leadership abilities as the head coach.

That said, a rival QB from the South Carolina Gamecocks, LaNorris Sellers, seriously begs to differ from Castellanos’ belief.

“Shoot, Alabama is still Alabama to me. They were good last year. They’re a good team,” Sellers said on The Zach Gelb Show.

“They’re big, strong, and fast. That’s how I remember watching them growing up. I don’t really think they’ve changed that much. Obviously, they’ve got a new coaching staff and all that. But they’re still SEC ball, they’re still Alabama.”

Sellers’ words show why he is touted as one of the top QBs entering the 2025 season, both on and off the field.

Last season, Sellers and Co. fell short against Alabama in a down-to-the-wire 27-25 result, especially since the Crimson Tide’s final points came from a brutal interception of Sellers.

But this season would be his shot at redemption.

He is also the more experienced QB heading into this game, against the most likely starter for Alabama, Ty Simpson.

Additionally, the Gamecocks would be hosting Alabama for the first time since 2019, which might give them the home-field advantage.
