Sophie Cunningham has turned the walk into Gainbridge Fieldhouse into her own personal runway. The Indiana Fever guard made another memorable pregame entrance Sunday before her team’s important late-season matchup against the Washington Mystics. Cunningham arrived wearing an oversized black collared shirt paired with a gray plaid micro-pleated skirt.
She completed the school-uniform-inspired look with black sunglasses, metallic pointed heels and a black handbag.
Athlete Vanity shared a photo of Cunningham’s outfit on X, giving fans an up-close look at one of the afternoon’s most notable WNBA tunnel fits.
Cunningham posed on the Fever’s red arrival carpet with one hand on her hip, allowing the understated color combination and contrasting pieces to do the work. It was polished, confident and unmistakably Cunningham.

Rather than relying on Fever colors or traditional game-day apparel, Cunningham chose a simple black-and-gray combination that stood out against the team’s bright red arrival backdrop.
Fans have come to expect those kinds of entrances from Cunningham, whose personality has become a major part of Indiana’s identity.
She brings the same fearless energy to her fashion that she displays on the court. Cunningham plays with an edge, rarely backs away from a confrontation and has developed into one of the Fever’s emotional leaders.

Fever face setback in playoff-positioning battle
Cunningham’s arrival came before one of Indiana’s most important games of the closing stretch. The Fever entered Sunday trying to protect their position in a crowded WNBA playoff race. Indiana and Washington had split their first two meetings of the season, making the final matchup especially important for postseason seeding and the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The afternoon did not go according to plan for the Fever. Washington controlled the game early and handed Indiana a 93-77 loss. The Mystics improved to 26-16 and moved within one game of the Fever, who fell to 27-15.
Caitlin Clark led Indiana with 25 points, but Washington shot 57 percent from the field and received double-doubles from Kiki Iriafen and Shakira Austin. Iriafen finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Austin added 20 points and 10 boards.
The loss added more pressure to Indiana’s final two regular-season games as the Fever try to secure the best possible playoff position. Whatever happened after the opening tip, however, Cunningham had already delivered one of the afternoon’s most memorable arrivals. With the playoffs approaching, the Fever guard is likely to have several more opportunities to make a statement on the court and in the tunnel.
