Sophie Cunningham has established a reputation for having very few problems saying exactly what she thinks. Apparently that applies to dating, too.
The Indiana Fever guard has previously spoken openly about what she looks for in a potential boyfriend, and one requirement resurfaced Thursday as interest in Cunningham's life away from basketball continues to grow.
Height matters.
A lot.
During an appearance on the "Show Me Something" podcast, Cunningham was asked about the qualities she wanted in a significant other. Her initial list was fairly conventional: fun, kind, loyal and faithful.
Then Cunningham added two more.
"Hot and tall."
How tall?
"I think minimum 6'4," Cunningham said.
That's quite the cutoff.
Cunningham, however, has a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Cunningham is listed at 6-foot-1 herself. She also likes wearing heels. That combination creates a mathematical problem for anyone hoping to meet her height requirement.
"Dude, I'm 6'1,", Cunningham explained during the conversation, "and I like to wear heels."
She wasn't finished.
Cunningham proceeded to make the case that 6-foot-4 isn't particularly tall, which prompted immediate pushback from the podcast.
For context, the average adult American man is roughly 5-foot-9, meaning Cunningham's minimum requirement cuts down the dating pool rather dramatically.
Then again, Cunningham has discussed the subject before.
She previously explained that she wouldn't want to date someone shorter than herself because she would prefer a partner who makes her feel smaller. She was careful to note that she has nothing against taller women dating shorter men. It simply isn't her personal preference.
The entire conversation fits Cunningham's public persona pretty well.
There wasn't much hesitation and definitely wasn't much ambiguity.

Cunningham's personality has become part of her popularity
Cunningham's profile has exploded since joining the Fever. Some of that has come from basketball. Some has come from playing alongside Caitlin Clark. And plenty has come from Cunningham being willing to let fans see her personality away from the court.
She has talked about relationships, fashion, music and plenty of other subjects on podcasts and social media rather than limiting her public presence to basketball.
That approach has helped make her one of the WNBA's more recognizable personalities.
Right now, though, basketball is becoming the priority again.
The Fever return from the FIBA World Cup break Friday against the Toronto Tempo with only four games remaining in the regular season. Indiana sits at 26-14 and is preparing for another postseason appearance.
Clark and Aliyah Boston have returned after helping Team USA win the World Cup, putting Indiana's primary pieces back together for the stretch run.
Cunningham has a role to play in that pursuit.
Dating can presumably wait.
And whenever Cunningham does decide to revisit it, potential suitors have at least been given a very clear scouting report.
