Sophie Cunningham's popularity continues to grow both on and off the basketball court. The Indiana Fever guard has become one of the WNBA's most recognizable personalities since joining the franchise, and now she's adding another accomplishment to her growing list. Cunningham is officially getting her own adidas player-exclusive basketball shoe, marking another major milestone in her partnership with the global apparel brand.
While it's not a signature shoe, it's still a significant achievement—and one that highlights just how much Cunningham's profile has risen over the past year.
Sophie Cunningham's adidas player-exclusive drops later this month
On Friday, multiple sneaker outlets reported that Cunningham's adidas Crazy Energy player-exclusive colorway will officially launch on July 24. Cunningham appeared to confirm the news herself by sharing images of the shoe on her Instagram Story.
The adidas Crazy Energy Sophie Cunningham PE will retail for $120 and will be available through adidas beginning July 24. The design certainly matches Cunningham's bold personality.
The shoe features a bright pink-to-white gradient across the upper with light blue accents visible through the mesh panels. Orange details on the midsole and outsole complete one of the more eye-catching basketball sneakers set to release this summer. Although the shoe doesn't include Cunningham's personal logo, the custom colorway is unmistakably tied to the Fever guard.
From budget sneakers to her own PE in just one year
The timing makes Cunningham's latest accomplishment even more impressive. Just over a year ago, Cunningham was making headlines for wearing a pair of adidas basketball shoes that retailed for around $45 during WNBA games.
Shortly afterward, she became one of the faces of adidas' Dame X campaign, helping promote Damian Lillard's latest signature model. Now she's receiving a player-exclusive release of her own.
It's another sign that adidas sees Cunningham as one of its fastest-rising ambassadors, particularly as her popularity has exploded following her arrival in Indiana.
Her energetic playing style, outspoken personality and growing social media presence have made her one of the league's most marketable players, with Fever fans embracing her almost immediately.

Cunningham continues building her brand alongside basketball success
Cunningham joined adidas after beginning her professional career wearing Nike and has steadily become one of the company's most visible WNBA athletes.
The timing couldn't be better.
Women's basketball continues to experience unprecedented growth, and footwear companies are investing more heavily in WNBA stars than ever before. Nike currently boasts signature shoes for Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu and A'ja Wilson, while adidas has begun expanding its presence with player-exclusive releases. Although a PE isn't the same as a signature sneaker, it's often viewed as another step toward establishing an athlete's place within a brand.
For Cunningham, it's another indication that her influence extends well beyond the box score. Whether she's making headlines with her on-court intensity, viral social media moments or fashion choices before games, Cunningham has become one of the WNBA's biggest personalities.
Now she'll have a sneaker that reflects it.
