Cal Raleigh is back in a valley again.
The Seattle Mariners catcher started the season in miserable fashion before finding some of his home run swing again.
Now, though, Raleigh is in a massive funk, and it feels very familiar to that season-opening one.
Raleigh's in such a bad 0-for streak with strikeouts that it prompted this post on X on Friday night:
Cal Raleigh amidst the single worst 21 AB stretch I’ve ever seen
0 for 21 with 11 Ks is insane
MORE: Luke Raley has 2 swings most batters can only dream of
It's definitely one of those times where it seems like Raleigh couldn't make solid contact no matter how big his bat was.
This is where he was early, too, before seeming to figure something out. He's going to need to diagnose his issues again to get back in a better place.
It's gotta be a frustrating season for Raleigh and for Mariners fans. He hit 60 home runs in 2025, which was historic on a bunch of levels. But it also was always going to be a tough season to follow up.
The reality is that Raleigh was almost certainly going to face regression.
The problem? It didn't necessarily have to be this much regression. But Raleigh is not in a good place in the batter's box right now. He's going to have to figure it out, or the Mariners will have a tough time reaching their ceiling as a team.
