“Someone do a blood test on Drake Maye”: NFL fans react as Tom Brady reveals cloning late dog Lua using advanced biotech

Tom Brady shocked NFL fans on Tuesday by revealing he cloned his late dog, Lua, with the help of Colossal Biosciences, a biotech company he is an investor in. Lua, a dog he shared with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, died in December 2023. After that, Brady welcomed a similar-looking dog, Junie.

On Tuesday, the seven-time Super Bowl champion revealed he cloned his dog in a statement shared by the company.

“I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family,” the former NFL star said. “A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family's elderly dog before she passed.”

Fans reacted as soon as the news hit social media, with some jokingly suggesting he did the same with himself and Colossal brought Drake Maye, the star New England Patriots quarterback.

"Someone do a blood test on Drake Maye," one fan said. "The Patriots cloned Tom two years ago too," another fan said. "Bro cloned himself and that’s why we have Drake Maye," Sleeper's X account tweeted.

Others didn't feel comfortable learning that piece of information about Tom Brady's dog.

"The falls directly in the middle of 'awwww' and 'wtf,'" one fan said."Who had Tom Brady and cloning on their sports Bingo card today?" another fan said."Thanks for the really weird message of the day," another fan said.
