Steph Curry had one of his easiest games of the season against the LA Clippers, playing just 25:32 minutes. Even with the light workload, he looked a bit beat up after the game, particularly because he had a nasty-looking scratch on his neck.

Curry quickly reassured Golden State Warriors fans, saying the injury wasn’t nearly as bad as it looked. He even joked about it to lighten the mood.

“I had a scratch earlier from the Laker game,” Curry told the reporters. “This one I think it I don't remember what play I didn't really feel it. Looked worse than it felt. Some would say that's light-skinned problems, too.”

Steph Curry didn’t seem to be distressed due to the same scratch nor did he seem bothered by any other injury. He didn’t have to work as hard to help his team clinch a win, recording 19 points and eight assists. It was Jimmy Butler, who was the highest scorer in the Golden State Warriors’ 98-79 win, recording 21 points along with five rebounds and five assists.

Fans are left enraged following another scratch on Steph Curry’s body

There’s long been a narrative among fans about Steph Curry not receiving the same superstar treatment from referees as other NBA stars, particularly when it comes to foul calls.

The discussion reignited after fans noticed a scratch on Curry’s neck during a recent game. A similar incident occurred during the Warriors’ October 21 matchup against the Lakers, when he was seen with a scratch on his shoulder.

Fans on social media were quick to voice their frustration once again.

“Out here tryna kill him but can’t get fouls called 🤦🏻‍♂️,” @currysIidee said. “they cant guard him so they try to kirk him😒,” @Jah2valid__ wrote. “maybe we can have a web page where we post after each match - all the new scratches Steph gets and no FTs to show for them. Maybe then @NBA will call some of them fouls,” @HeySubz wrote. “FTs galore around the league except for Steph 🤦‍♂️,” @anxiousdubsfan said. “refs are too blind,” @GoodVibesZeZe said. “Steph got a fat ass scratch on his neck and never gets foul calls his way lol,” @Alfredo_THC wrote.

It’s unclear exactly when Curry got the scratch on his neck, but it’s another example of the physical defense he faces on a nightly basis. Despite taking hits throughout the game, he was awarded only three free throw attempts.

Steph Curry is currently averaging 27.0 points per game, ranking 12th in the league. But, he sits just 45th in free throw attempts per game, averaging only five.
