Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set to lock horns for the sixth time in a competitive final this year, with the Spaniard and Italian's rivalry's latest installment set to come in the championship match of the 2025 ATP Finals. After the ATP stars secured progress to the final of the prestigious year-end event, several fans poked fun at the pair's present-day dominance in men's singles tennis with a myriad of reactions.

Alcaraz and Sinner have so far contested this year's finals of the Italian Open, French Open, Wimbledon Championships, Cincinnati Open and US Open. The Italian triumphed at SW19, but everywhere else, it was the Spaniard who came out on top. On Sunday, November 16, they will contest the title decider at the ATP Finals for the first time at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy.

Tennis fans spanning X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, through several playful reactions, highlighted how Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner repeatedly facing each other in men's singles tennis' biggest finals is indicative of their level being head and shoulders above the rest of the ATP Tour.

One even opined that the pair's rivalry is a modern-day iteration of the legendary rivalry once shared by the now-retired Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The Swiss and the Spaniard squared off in 24 competitive finals, including the finals of nine Grand Slams. Nadal came out on top in 14 of the 24 final battles between the two.

"I'm so sick of them," one fan wrote. "This is basically Nadal vs Federer 2.0," commented another. "The ATP CEO if these two didn’t exist," another fan chimed in, along with the quote, "If it wasn't for my two boys, I would've killed myself", from American former basketball star John Wall. "Last year people were begging for a Sincaraz final. And now we have nothing but those," one stated. "Death, Taxes, and Sincaraz in the Finals," added another. "The illusion of choice," weighed in yet another fan.

Not long after ruthlessly dispatching Felix Auger-Aliassime to ensure the sixth final meeting of the year between himself and Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz cited the Italian's remarkable 31-match indoor hardcourt win streak to declare his rival the favorite to win the title decider at the 2025 ATP Finals. The Spaniard also touched on the vociferous crowd support for Sinner in Turin, Italy.

"Who is the favorite? I mean, the No. 1 means that I've been playing really good during the whole season, in the whole surfaces. He's playing the best on indoor court. We're playing in front of his home crowd. I would say he's the favorite. Don't want to believe it, but I would say he's the favorite for tomorrow I guess," Alcaraz said at a press conference.

Sinner is the defending ATP Finals champion, with the Italian having won the year-end tournament for the first time last year after defeating Taylor Fritz in the final.
